VOLUNTEER TRAINING.
CLASSES OF INSTRUCTION.

WELLINGTON, April 24. Uniformity of instruction for all Voluntoers is being aimed at. by the Council of Defence, and to secure that end a class'of instruction for tho permanent staff of tho Wellington Volunteer district, is now in progress at Wellington. Drill in detail, from square to company, the amending of certain irregularities in tlio drill manuals, musketry in all its branches, and the construction of artificial field shelters for field forces are amongst, the subjects boing dealt with. Tho council is desirous of extending the scope, of Volunteer instruction, especially in regard to making tho work of tho infantry more interesting. Tho class in Wellington is likely to terminate at tho end of the week. Classes for all other districts in the colony aro in contemplation, and these will bo followed by instructional classes for Volunlcer' officers and noncommissioned officers.
