CHARGES AGAINST JUSTICES OF THE PEACE.

In a ca£f in which a justice of the peace was charged, at the Magistrate's Court today, witli perjury, the accused made tlio so'mowliat unusual defence that the wi- • dencb which formed tlie subject of Iho charge referred to a time when he' was intoxicated, and that his evidence ■ had not Iwen knowingly false.
