MASONIC.

The half-yearly meeting of the Kelwinninj Otago Royal Arch Chapter 116 S.C. was held in the Freemason's Hall on Monday evening. There was an excellent attendance of members and visitors. P.O. Superintendent ex-Comp. 11. Neill occupied (•he Z.'s chair, assisted by the following P.Z.'s:-Ex. Comp. S. Hinkley, H.; Ex. Comp. T. Ross, J. ; Ex. Comp. H. 0. Carter Ist Soj.; Ex. Comp. G.Barclay, 2nd Soj.; Ex. Comp.C.E.Kcastjjun., 3rd Soj.; and Ex. Comp. J. Farqiiharson, 0. of Y. Several M. Masters wore exalted to the degree of a. Koyal Arch Mason, Ex. Comp. ' A M'Adam delivering a very impressive lecture'ill the excellent degree, Ex. Comp. C. E. Keast giving the W.T., Ex. Comp. A. M'Lean gave the S. and T. Ex. Comp. G. Barclay kindly consented to give a lecture on, the 8.N.5.; which was well received. Tiie V.G.S. H. Neill was ihen asked by the M.E.Z. Comp. F. cT Dayio, on behalf of the officers and companions of tho chapter, to present Ex. Comp. J. J. M'Ticker, S.E.. with a very handsome gold watch, suitably inscribed, for valuable so. vices rendered to the chapter for the past six yeare, and on.account of his leaviii" Dunedin. The P.G. Superintendent spoke in very glowing terms of Ex. Comp. J. J.' M'Vicker as Seril* E., and said tho chaptei was to be congratulated upon having had him for so many years us Scribe E. Several other P.Z.'s also referred to Ex. Seribs's good qualities. Ex. Comp. J. J. M'Vicker suitably responded. Hearty good wi.-hes were tendered to M.E.Z. by the,P.G. Superintendent Otago Chapter No. 7 X.Z., Momic Chapter 942 E.C., Canterbury Kilwinning No. 156, and S.C. Timaru Chapter >?o. 15. Tho chapter was ihen closed, and an adjournment was mado to, the Lower Masonio Hall, where the companions and visitors partook of light refreshments. After the usual toasts ha<l 'been received, a. musical programme wae gone through, several Comps. contributing items. A most pleasant evening was closed by singing ''Gα! save the King."
