EXHIBITION PICTURES.
TO SECURE SOME FOB DUXEDIN. Other cantres in the colony have kfcen liberal advantage of the opportunity of purchasing pictures from the Exhibition Art Gallery for their parinanent collodions, but sii far Dunedin has made no fleiinito move in this direction. There is- nc-w. however, a prospect that' a picture or two from the Exhibition gallery may yet find ite way into the new Public Art Gallery lwivig erected in this city, and a movement has been set on foot to collect funds to this end which "hould have speedily a definite result. .At a meeting he'd on Monday evening the Otajo Art Society discussed llio desirability of raisin" a fund for tho purpose indicated, and resolved to voio £25 towards such a fund, and to invite subscriptions thereto from the citizens.
