Mr T. H. Neshitt, (own cicrk ol Sydney, at present on a visit to Xpw Zealand, will probably arrive .in Duncdiu from Christchurch to-morrow. Mr Robert Scott, of Kokonga (president of tho Otago branch of the A'ew Zealand Farmers' Union), arrived in Dunedin last night. Mr Scott will accompany Mr Boddie to several of the meetings, which the latter gentleman intends to address on ths Land Bill. 'Madams- Blanche Anal, who is attracting very largo audiences in the north, will pay a. return visit to Dunedin, opening on Good Friday. At ii meeting of tho Southern I'ootball Club last evening, ilr 1!. Kiehardson, who acted as coach last season, was 'presented with ahiindsome traveling rug as a mark of tho players' appreciation of his services. The presentation was made by Mr J. M. Callaway. Mr J. 11, Hickman, .who has been in tlio Asliburton branch-of the Bank of Australasia for the past 12 years, was, on, the eve of his transfer 1o Dunedin, presented with -,v case of pipes. Mr T. 11. Bace, the Canadian Commissioner at the Exhibition, has been on a visit to Buncdiu sitico Friday last, and, provided tho weather is fine, he will journey south tomorrow by motor car. Mr liaee says he is particularly interested in the agricultural resources of tho colony, and he intends, if possible, to inspect alt the best farming districts in the South Island. The commissioner returns to Canada at tho close of the Exhibition. An, InvercargiH telegram states that Mr Nicholas Sweolnian, an old colonist, living in the Balfour district, died suddenly on Sunday. He was missed, and when search was mado diis body was found leaning over a gale. Mr Boddie, who hasbcen chosen to address public meetings in Otago on tho Land Bill introduced into Parliament last session by the-Government, will commence his cmncai'm at Wnikoiioiti to-night. Mr Hugh Mitchell (provincial secretary of the Farmers' Union) received a wiro yesterday •staling that Mr Boddie would arrive at. Waikouaiti this afternoon at half-past 3 o'clock; It is not likely that Mr Boddie wiil be able to devote time to visiting other parls of Otago than those already mentioned.. ' . ' News has reached Dunedin of the decease of Mr George Irvine, an old identity of Pa,'?aroa, who dropped dead from heart failure on Saturday Jlr Irvine was a native of the Shetland Islands, and settled in Patearoa in the early digging days. He was a highly respected resident of that place, and lived in n picturesque little homo surrounded bv a wellkept garden, to which he devoted his spare time. Of a quiet unassuming nature, ho took no part in public matters, but was'nevertheless a popular resident. He .leaves a widow and one daughter to mourn his loss, and to them will be extended the sympathy of a large circle of friends.
