MOTHER. AND 'CHILD DROWNED.

(Per United Press Association.) AVESTPORT, March 18. A double fatality occurred (it Coalbrookdale on Saturday night, Mrs Frcyer ami a two-year-old child being, drowned in the Waimangaroa River. At tho inquest held, to-day tho evidence failed to dijclosc how tho deceased camo to got into the river, but it was surmised that, the mother yvilh the child in her arms had fallen over tho embankment of the river atoufc 8 o'clock on Saturday night, and been drowned. Mr and Mrs Ereyer and child only recently arrived from tho Old Country.
