WOOL SALES. LONDON, March 17. The wool sales are animated, uud prices generally well maintained. Best crossbreds, aro slightly dearer, and shabby crossbreds weak. To date 55,252 bales have been catalogued, and 52,497 sold. Current quotations arc: 3§d and 9£d per lb [or hind and forequartcrs respectively. The butler market is firmer. Choice New Zealand brands aro quoted at lODs; Australian, 9Ss; and Danish, Ills per cwt. The cliccso market is steady at unchanged rates. Tho hemp market is dull. Good fair grade on the spot is quoted at £37 10s per ton; March and June shipments, £37; and fair current Manila on tho spot at £30 10s. The cocksfoot seed market is unchanged since last week. The wool market is firm at id advance.

Competition for all classes of produce was good, and we cleared most of our catalogue at satisfactory prices. Values ruled as under: — Oats.—Consignments continue to come forward slowly, and ail offering are readily token up by the local trade or by shippers at prices equal to late quotations. Quotations: Primp milling, 2s 7d to 2s 7\d; good to best feed. 2s Gd to 2s Bid; medium and inferior, 2s lid to 2s S-Ul per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat.—'flic wheat market continues firm, and all primo lots offering are readily taken up by millers. Medium quality is not so much sought after, and is bring quitted as to\yl wheat, which is in short supply.
