| The ordinary fortnightJy mooting of tho Drainage and Sewerage Board was hold on Tuesday-night, the members present being ' Messrs W. Burnett (chairman), ,1. 11. Hancock, .1. Gore, .1, Arkle, 11. Spears, j. Small, T. K. Cbrislio, and .1. .1. Marlow. . All apology for non-attendance was l-ecoivcd . from Dr Fulton. P.WORT. i Tim Works Committee reported that the sub-committee appointed to inquire into a reported broach of tlio plumbing by-laws 1 recommended the board to take no further. > action beyond notifying tho plumber rc- • sponsible that tho particulars of Iho case 1 had lwon recorded, The committee further recommended the board to take action in tho next reported ease of infringement of tho by-laws, either by licensed or unlicensed plumbers. Both recommendations j were adopted. , CORKESPON'DENTD. A letter was received from the St. Kihla k Council drawing attention to a nuisance 5 created by sewage running into an open r ditch in Bowcn street.—Tho Drainage > Board's engineer reported that tho nuisance a could be abated by work which would cost, t about £10.—It, was unanimiusly agreed, to s have tho work carried out immediately. The Town C%;jc wrote notifying that the ! council had granted fivo annual tramway 1 tickcts (at a cost of £5 per annum) to ■' officers of the Drainage and Sewerage ' Board. 1 Mr John Lunn (for R. 0. Clark, Auek--3 land) wrote drawing attention to the charges levied on drain pipes by tho Harbour Board, and soliciting the Drainage I Board to interest itself in inducing tho Har"Bour Board to accept the same measurements as (he Union S.S. Company. The writer eonlcnded that drain pipes manufactured in Auckland were practically debarred entry to Dunedin, to the consequent loss of the citizens.—Copy of tho letter to be forwarded to the Harbour Board. Mr S. M. B. Muir wrote inquiring if tho . hoard would grant hjm permission to con- '. nect. his property with a sewer in View street, the board to bo repaid by instal- . menls yearly as (he act provided.—'flic Works and Finance Committees to report. I TENDERS, Tenders were opened for: (a) Cast iron I pipos for rising main; (i>) reticulation of a portion of &t\ David street; (c) sub-lcasc of the board's Lnith street properties.— Referred to Iho Works Committee to ncccpt the lowest or most eligible tender.
