HOLY CROSS COLLEGE.

lhe Provincial Ecclesiastical Seminary of Holy Cross College, Mosgicl, reopenod after the Christmas vacation on Saturday last. Tiio attendance of students was satisfactory, and a further accession of numbers is expected. The accommodation at the college has been largely increased by adding in a substantia! brick building several classrooms and Jarge library, and reception rooms on the ground floor of the- new wing, witli dormitoies overhead. The passages are all wide a'nrl the rooms are lofty and well ventilated. A long covered corridor connects the now wing with the older portion of the building, anil this is surmounted with an ornamental belfry. The grounds now being laid out by the local gardener, Mr F. beiiton, _ when completed will placo tho college m tho midst of very pleasant surroundings. On Sunday his Grace the Archbishop of Wellington (Dr Redwood) preached at St. Joseph's Cathedral ,iu connection with the opening' of lhe new college, and in the evening the Very Rev. Dean Burke (of Invorcargill) was tho preacher. Yesterday the now buildings wore solemnly blessed by his 'Grace. Monsignor O'Leary (Lawrence), the Very Rev. Dean Burke (Invercargill), anil lathers O'Neill, J. Ryan (West Australia Loltey. Howard, Ahcarn, Liston, Buckley, and Kavanagh also assisted at the ceremonies.
