At the last meeting of the Medical Club, Middlemarch, Dr iiosa Collier, M.A\, was selected out of several applicants for the position of- medical officer. Dr Collier has practised for tho last year in the Palmerstoa and Waikouaiti district, along with Dr W. Hislop, with considerable success. She has done a large amount of work amongst the Maoris of Mocraki and Puketiraki, and it is with the greatest reluctance that the Maoris are bidding her good-bye. Collier takes with her the gocd wishes, mingled with much regret-at losing her, of a very large circle of friends and patienjs. Our Oamaru correspondent states that the. Oamaru Presbytery met on Friday for the purpose of considering a call from the Hawera congregation to the Kev. J. K. ShoTe. Tlie Maheno-Inchholme charge was represented at the mieoting, and though regretting the prospect of, the translation, the congregation offered no objection. The Kev. Mr Shore intimated that hefwas disposed to accept the call, which was placed in his hands. It was decided to sevet the pastoral tie as from March 31, and the Hev.
