The shooting opened at 7 o'clock with the continuation of the 200 yds of Ihe Wcstland .Match; but as there were only four targets available the shooting was very slow. The weather was magnificent; but tho shooting was not first-class, there being very few good scores. The 500 yds of the Canterbury Match, a portion of which had been fired on the previous day, was continued at 8 o'clock, and was fired simultaneously with the 200 yds of the Wcstland Match. The fine weather told on tho shooting here, and (he association had to pay on eight possibles— Higgins (Timaru). James (Napier), Mould (Duvauchelles), Cameron (Opaki), P. Jack (Ohristchurch), Piay (Bannockburn), Thorpe |\Vairoa). A large number with one point less followed. Then came Monroe and Bradley, both well up. The following is the prize list:— WESTLAXD MATCH, 200 yds and 600 yds. Eighty-four prizes. Trophy, £j ss, one £'1 Is, three £i. four JE2, twenty £1. Jiifleen 15s, seventy 10s, twenty tyros *10s.' The Nelson Match was completed during the afternoon. At tho 600 yds range tho shooting was fair. Burford (Timaru) put on the possible, and W. Ballinger (Petone) and Harlow (Dunrdin) were among those who put up Z\, while 33's were common, This is accounted for by Ihe fine weather. Whereas the competitors were condemning the range yesterday, all hands expressed pleasure to-day.
