The Atlantic shipments aro 180,000 quarters, and tho Pacific 40,000 quarters. An Australian cargo sold at 30s Gd. Currants: Auialias, 27s to 27s Gd; Patras, 28s Gd to 30s. Canary seed, 48s to 555. Linseed, 150 to £56. Rape seed. £G0 to £03. s Hemp seed, £3G to JC4O.

At tho tallow sales 900 casks were offered and 350 sold. Prices are unchanged, Stocks and shares: New Zealand Mortgage and Agency Coinpnuy, £)1. All others unchanged.

Beef: Hindquarters, 3|d; fores, 2Jd. WOOL SALES. .SYDNEY. February 21. At the wool sales prices showed a hardening tendency. Scoured went, to 25d—a. record for tko season;—greasy, 14Jd. (Received Feb. 22, at 1.5 a.m.) The wool sales closed firm and animated at full rates—greasy to WI&, scoured, 21Jd. Private advices have been received to tho effect that at Sydney on Wednesday and Thursday Messrs Winchcombe and Carsqn held two very successful wool sales, selling by auction and privately nearly 8000 bales. They sold good greasy fleece wool to Did and, scoured to 25d. The latter is tho record price for tho season. The market was very firm, and there was an exceptionally large attendance o{ buyers. -O HIDES. , . MELBOURNE, February 21. (Received Feb. 22, at 1.5 a.m.)' The hide market is very.firm, and all catalogues have been cleared.

HIDE SALES.

The National Mortgage and Agency Company report as follows:—Wo held our usual fortnightly sale of hides at our stores on Thursday, 21st inst,, when we submitted a full catalogue, comprising ox and cow hides, yearlings, and calfskins, to tho usual attend, auco of buyers. Competition was not so spirited as usual, but we succeeded in clearing every lot catalogued. Heavy-weights wcro in good demand, fetching prices differing but little compared with late rates for such. Medium and light hides, however, wero not in such keen request as they were at our last salo; and in tlTcso prices showed a slight decline. Quotations: Extra stout heavy ox, 7d to 73d; heavy ox, 61d to G-Jd; medium do, Gd to Ggd; light (best), fid to G'd; inferior, 3d to 5Jd; heavy cow, 6Jd to GJd; medium do, sjd to 65(1; light (host), Cd to G'd; inferior, 3d to 4{d per lb; stags and pulls, 4d to 4id; calfskins and yearlings, 3Jd to 6Jd per lb. Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company held their usual fortnightly sale yesterday at their stores, and report as under:—We offered a full catalogue to tho usual representative gathering of buyers. Competition was keen, and prices ruled much as a fortnight ago. Heavy ox sold with us to 71d, which at that time was top prico for the day. Priceß may be quoted as under;— Stout ox, 7d to 7Jd; heavy do, 6Jd to 7d; light, 5Jd to GJd; heavy cow, s}d to Sgd; medium do. 5Jd to 6gd; light do, 5d to 5Sd; yearlings, 4d to 6d; calfskins, 2s to 4s. The Otago Farmers' Co-operativo Association of New Zealand report having held its fortnightly sale of hides at their stores on Thursday, when they offered a catalogue of 585 hides and calfskins. The bulk of their catalogue consisted of country consignments in good condition. Thcro was a full attendance of buyers, and competition for every lot was keen; and at rates lately ruling tho catalogue was cleared at satisfactory prices. Quotations: Extra prime heavy ox, 7§d to 7ijd; prime, 7d to 7Jd; medium, GJd to 6JcI; light, Gd to GJd; heavy cow, 6Jd to GJd; light, Gd to Gjd; bull, 4pd to sid; yearling, Cd to GJd; calfskins, 6}d to 6jd.
