I nymcally, ho has an elongated appearance and ettsras weak-chested, but a glance kC the' close-set eyebrows shows that ho has the faculty of concentration abnormally deve oped. Hie play in tho contest iust concluded has been marked by cool calculation, rare penetration, and unerring accuracy. Hie stratejry is said to bo remind cent of that displayed by Mr F. V. Siede. hertf, who Iwld the championship of No* Zealand in 1891 and 1892, but it may be moro aptly compared to tho mathematical precision characteristic of tho play of Dr Emsnucl laskor, chose champion/ of the world.
