WELLINGTON HARBOUR BOARD.

WELLINGTON, .January 10. A summary of the financial results of the working- of the Wellington Harbour Board for the 12 months ended September 30 last has been prepared. The profit and loss account shows that after tin- payment of £21,023 for interest and of £29,093 for depreciation and maintcnanco 'there is a credit balance of £7728 for the 12 months as compared with £6379 for the previous 12 months—an increase of £1549. Of tho £29,C93 written off for depreciation the eum of £6236 was spent on maintenance, leaving the net amount written off for depreciation as £22,857, as compared with £16,791 iu the previous year. The interest paid on loa-ns was £21,023, us coinpaved with £18,756—an increase of £2267 on the previous year. The sinking fund shows an increase of £7931 for 12 months, of which £4760 was received from tlio board. The actual receipts for tho year were £141,003, ae against £124,895 for 1905—an increase of £15,118, or 13 per cent. The working expenditure was £103,552, xs against £93,471 in 1905-an increase of _ £10,081, or 10.8 per cont Deducting interest and sinking fund (£77,770 and £70,495) there was an increase of. £7275, or 10.5 per cent. The capital expenditure for tho 12 months was as follows, the figures for the previous year being given in parentheses:—Repairs and maintenance. £6236 (£9775); new works, £84,084 (£Bl,3o4);—totals, £90,320 (£91,079).
