.Messrs AV. U. Aracfc, C. T. Aschman, ami ,1. E. Green, representing the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, waited on tliß conference to discuss proposals for reciprocity between tho' association and the union.

Mr Woods, "Hi welcoming Ihc representatives, said that tho union delegates were ready to co-onenue with any other governing body of sport.

ivlr Ataclc seated that an agreement between tho two bodies had been suggested after tho manner of that existing between tho Athletic , Association and tho League Wheelmen. It was hoped that the, union and association would be ablo to assist cadi other in tho government of athletic sport. The Otago Centro of the association was the only ono that had objected to tho proposed agreement, and its objection was evidently uuo to a misconception.

Tho following were the terms of the proposed agreement: — (1) Each organisation recognises the other as tho governing body of tho branch of snort that each is constituted to govern; (2) each organisation undertakes to recognise, enforce, and maintain the suspensions and disqualifications of tho other; (3) before reinstating any person aa an amateur tho New Zealand Amateur Athlctio Association shall refer tho application for reinstatement to the New Zealand Athlctio Union for endorsement or otherirrio; (4) it is agreed by tho New Zealand Athletic Union to refuse tho entry of any amateur into any cash competition unless tlio amateur has abstained entirely from all competitions held under tho New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association's laws for a period of at least 12 months; (5) it is agreed by the Xew Zealand Amateur Athletic Association that any body affiliated to tlie Now Zealand Athletic Union may obtain a permit to placo amateur events upon its snorts programme without payment of any foe—ilr Ataek said that the mutual recognision of suspensions and disqualifications would strengthen both bodies.

Tho proposed agreement was accepted with tho elimination of clause 4-.

It was also resolved that provision ehould be madp that the only amateur officials in connection With amateur events on a cash programme- should bo a handicapper and a local consul, ami that tlio clubs affiliated to the association should be made to understand clearly that they should place cash events on their programmes if events for their members were placed on cash programmes.

,It was decided to request the New Zealand Axemen's Association to organise as a colonial body, as otherwise tho union would be forced, ; in the interests of several of it 6 affiliated societies, to control sawing and chopping events throughout the colony.

Tho conference passed a resolution expressing regret that disqualified competitors should have been allowed to compete at recent sports in tho Wanjpinui district., and it was decided to ask tho Wanganui Centre for full particulars of tho nutter.
