ALBION CRICKET CLUB. . At a special meeting of the Albion Cricket Club, held in All Saints' Schoolroom last evening prior ■to the annual meeting, it was resolved that by-lav; No. 5 be altered so as to read "three practico captains" in placo of "two," and that tho subscription be 20s for juniors and the age 19 years, as at present. The president of tho club (Mr T. A. Maiiland) was in the chair, and there was a largo attendance cf members. Tho ■ annual meeting followed. The Chairman said the report (already published) called for very littlo remark when they took into account tho fact that tho First Grade team this year, was pretty low down in the list They hoped that the incoming season would be a very much brighter one than the past one or. two seasons had been. They were doing their best to this end in improving the North Ground by putting down turf wickets, and he was quiie satisfied, if the mooting was any indication of prosperity next year, trjey would bo very near the top when "the numbers went up. lie had said before that the Albion Cricket Club was the mother of cricket in Dunedin, and he was sure they were going to stick to their position this year. They were going to bring forward their club by young members, and they hoped in time they would come right to the front, and would become provincial members as well. They had in the field last season a First, a Second two Thirds, and a Fourth Grade team. The Third Grade No. 1 had been very nearly at the top, tieing with another club, and for this they were duly thankful. Thoy thought the. Third Grade team did very well indeed in winning 12 matches out of 14. They hoped the other grades would come forward this season, and if members would practise as they ought io do the Albion Cricket Club would be very near the top at the end of the season.

He had promises for the ground fund alone of over £60, and ho thought, if the club backed him up, if would bo £100 before the end of tho season.

Mr M. Cohen congratulated tho club upon two great improvements. : Tho first was the increased attendance and the interest taken in the affairs of tho club, and tho second was the intense interest on the pari of (ho young players he.saw about liim that evening. A pavilion would bo built on the ground at the commencement of the season, where they could keep their practice material, and the improved state of tho ground should enable members to get better, practice, and so make a bettor reputation than last season., iiv.not. only holding the shield they already had, but win-, ning another to keep it company.
