OCEAN BEACH DOMAIN BOARD.

A special meeting of the Ocean Beach Domain Board was held on Tuesday afternoon for lhe y.urpoic _of considering the draff of a bill for vesting certain portions of file domain in the City Council for recreation and cemetery purposes. Mr J. 11. llanecck (chairman) presided, and the other members present were—Messrs I. Green, ,1. Arklc, and (V Hedges. Tho Chairman read over the amendments in the draft of the bill which had been made by the board's solicitors, and explained that ihe lands described in tho first schedule (ChHiolin Park) comprised about 36i acre=. These were to be used for recreation purposes. lands described in the second shedule, 23 acres, were for cemetery purposes. Mr Green said Hint as the free n.=3 of Hie land was reserved to the general public, his opposition to tho alienation of the land ip. question was removed to a. groat cxtont. lir Arkle thought that the lands should be vested in the corporation on tho same footing as oilier reserves. The right should be given the corporation to charge for admission oil certain day?., the money to be spent oxelusivoly on the ground. It was possible that it might become a mucbfreqeented place, and its upkeep would have lo be taken out of the City Council's general fund if there were no other means. Mr Ureeii said that the real question of upkeep was the upkeep of Lower Tomahawk road.

The Chairman explained the position with regard to the road, which had come about since the passing of the Ocean . Beach Domain Amending Act of 1901. At.
