When questioned about tho mutter by tho police tlicy all admitted firing i shot encli. but stated that they did not know they were doing any wvodr. The penalty under tho by-law was fa.—Tlic'boys, who each plendrd " Gniltv." were admonished by tho Magistrate, and the danger of discharging firearms in a mililio place was pointed out to them, aftei which, on a. prom!so being given that such an offence would not occur again, a fine of Ss. with costs (4s 3d), was imposed ill each instance.
