NORTH-EAST VALLEY CHURCH OF CHRIST.
The Sunday School anniversary services, in connection with the North-Bast Valley Church of Christ were held on Sunday. In the morning Ml W Lowe spoke upon the necessity of attending to the spiritual needs of children in foreign lands, his text being taken from Mark xvi, 15 and IG, "Go ye into all the world and preach tho Gospel to overy creature He that belicveth and is baptised shall be saved." In the afternoon the children from the Sunday School at the Christian Chapel, and also from the Mission Hall at Normanby, with their parents and friends, assembled in force, and the sorvke was conducted by Mr W. J. Hastie, evangelist of the City Church, whoso address was based upon the words of Isaiah, " A little child shall load them." The chapel was crowded, and a powerful address upon the subject of Sunday School work was listened to with rapt attention. At night Mr T. Arnold (Sunday School superintendent) preached from the Saviour's gracious words, "Suffer the children to come unto Me." He was assisted by Messrs W. Lowe, T. Weir, H. D. Austin, and W. J. Lowe, formerly, scholars of; but now teachere iu the Sunday School and preachers of the Gosbel. There was another largo attendance, and the preacher spoke of the many evil courses of lifo into which the young were invited and seduced, and urged the congregation to co-operate with Sunday School labourers in leading their children into paths of rectitude, virtue, and loyalty to Christ.' The distribution of prizes and anniversary tea meeting takes place on Friday next.
