Arrangements have been made for Dr M'Kellar to continue as local director of the Equitable Life Assurance Association of the United States, and for Mr Taylor, the present genera'_ manager, to remain for the purpose of establishing permanent agencies in Australia- and New Zealand so as to secure the punctual fulfilment of the society's obligations, though for the present no new business will be accepted. Steps are being taken to secure the interests of the company's numerous Australian members.
