AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS.
WELLINGTON. Ma roll 1. The Agricnlt.nral Department has compiled a. tnlilo giving the area, in Hid colony under' wheat, oats, and lwrloy, and the estimated yield, also the amount of flour and wheat o:i hand up to the Ist of October last. The figures are as follow: —Wheat, 222.965' acres; estimated yield, 28 bushels; total yield. 6,2-13.020 bushels. Oats, 360,569 acres: estimated yield. 35 bushels; total yield, 121.619.915 bushels. Harlcy, 29,644 aorcs: estimated yield, 30 bushels; total yield, 889.320 bushels. In June last tho wheat on hand available for all purposes lip to tho ZBth of February. 1905, was 10,226.600 bushels, ami the wheat awl flour imported from the Ist of March, 1905, to 31st October, 1805. was 11.311 bushels; total, 10,237,941 bushel*. This has been disposed of as follows:—For seed 223,571 acres, of. ?, bushels per acre, 447.142 bushels; consumption for n population of 910,000, at 6 bushels per head per annum, or for eight months, March io October of last year, 3.640,000 bushels: wheat and flour exported from March to October of last year, 825,747 bushels; total, 4,912.889 bushels; leaving on hand on October 31 last 5,325,052 bushels. Tho amount actually relumed on October 31 last, as per returns, was 2,990,553 bushels. The wheat on hand in excess of requirements on March 31, 1906, not including this season's crop, will be approximated}' 1,140,553 bushels. The exports and imports for the four months are not taken into account.
KOSLYJN AND KAIKORAI TRAM-
WAY COMPANY.
The annual meeting of the Roslyn and Kaikorai Tramwav Company was held on the 15th inst. Mr H. V. Haddock (chair-, man of directors) presided. Tho following annual report was adopted: —
" In submitting tho eleventh annual report and balance shed, your directors have pleasure in stating that the rrsnlt of the past year's operations again gives cause for satisfaction, there being an increase in the revenue from passengers carried, although there was a slight decrease in the averi'gc numbers using the cars, counterbalanced in some decree by an increase in the number of trips run. Tho decrease in passengers is undoubtedly due (we should say wholly) to the closing of Stuart street by the new Tiailwny Station and the consequent waul of access to and from the workshops, factories, etc.. in this vicinity. The total mileage run was 05.310J miles, as against Cvi'ltJ miles the previous year. The passengers carried imiiibcfrd s!s,ffil up and 34G.90!) down. The total traffic receipts were £6719 ,4s lid, an increase of £~S lis -Id over those of the previous year. Your directors declared (he usual interim dividend at the rate of G per cent, per annum for the halt-year ended 31sfc .Tuly, 1905, and recommend the payment of a further dividend at the rate of G per cent, for the half-year ended Hist January, 1900. to the shareholders on the re-.dster at that data. Your directors congratulate shareholders on the satisfactory services rendered by tho manager (Mr ,T. Hunter) and his staff, and have pleasure in tendering their thanks to the emplosecs of the company generally. The retiring directors—Messrs K. A. Smith, A. Sligo, and 0. Tilbum—and tho retiring; auditor—Mr Peter Barr—were reelected unopposed.
