Owing tit the impossibility of raining them to the surface, it is intended to destroy the 900 bodies still left in the galleries by means of quicklime. March 17. (Received March 18, at 4.30 p.m.) Twenty thousand men are on strike in the Lens district, Pas-de-Calais. The strike is still spreading. LOSDOJf, March 16. (Received March 17, at 9.9 a.m.) The Labour members in the House of Commons hope to raise a Parliamentary Relief Fund of £1000.
