(FEOM 008 OWM COEBESPONDENT.)' WELLINGTON, February 14. Mr John Prouso and Miss Prouse leavo on Saturday for Buenos Ayrcs, whero Miss Prouse is to be married to Mr Davis, who i 3 British Consul there. Afterwards Mr Prouso will leave for England, where ho will probably go on tour with ICubelik, the famous violinist. Mr Prouso informs me that Kubelik is almost ccrtain to come to Australia and Now Zealand. Mr Davis is a brother of Miss Gwen Davis, tho wellknown singer, who mp.ilo a favourable impression in New Zealand a few years ago. The New Zealand University authorities have received a cablegram conveying the results of the recent examinations. In, view of the fact, however, that cablegrams are liable to be misinterpreted, tho authorities have decided to withhold all information until the fuller details arrivo by the mail, in about a month's time. Mr Will Lawson, of Wellington, author of " The Long Hcrl Road," has in tho press another bopk of poems to which ho has given the title "Between tho Lights." Tho squadron will leave for Lyttolton to-morrow morning, and will take part in a regatta there on Saturday. Admiral Fawkes gave a lunch on board the flagship to-day. The guests included tho members of the Cabinet. Mr Jcft'rays, a commissioner of tho Board of Trade, London, arrived from Sydnoy to-day by tho Mocraki. Mr Gordon, of Hawkc's Bay, and Mrs and Miss Reynolds avo amongst tho passengers for England by tho outgoing direct steamer.
