THE NEW ZEALAND AMATEUR ATHLETIC CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING.
■ A meeting of the Otago Centre, N.Z.A.A.A., sub-committee arronging details for the forthcoming championship meeting at Carisbrcok on 3rd March was held last evening, jlr A. Ifarryatt in the chair.
Tho programme for the meeting was discussed, and it wa3 decided that, in addition to the 15 championship events, two relay racss should be held, both over a mile. One will be known as tho Interprovincial Teams Kacc. It will be for teams of four representing a province. The other will be a club rilav race. It was decided to close entries on February
Messrs Jacobs and Mavryult were appointed to wait on the Railway Department with a view to obtaining cheap fares to Dunedin for the meeting. It was decided to psk the Ofago Cricket Association to postpone matches o.i tho day of the sports. Tenders wero received for the manufacture of medals for the meeting, and it was resolved to have the work done locally.
. The committee will wait on the Carisbrook Ground Company with a 'view to obtaining a new telegraph board, the one at present in use being obsolete. Messrs Sanderson and Mackintosh were appointed to go into the matter of entertaining the visiting competitors, the feeling of tlio meeting being that a trip should be arranged down the harbour.
