PENINSULA ROAD BOARD.
The regular meeting of the Peninsula Road Beard was held at HigholitT on the oth inst.; ptesenf—Messrs ,T. Walker (chairman) M'Curdy, Reekie, M. Robertson, Black, and W. Robertson. A letter, was received from the late clerk re board's property, and it waa decided that (he clerk bo instructed to writo to the late clerk -Jequiring him to return all the board's property immediately. Mr Black moved, and Mr M'Curdv seconded, that the resolution re J. Robertson's road be rescinded. On being put to the meeting the motion was lost on the casting vote of the chairman. Rc the £100 grant for Seal Point road, it w.-,s decided, on the motion of Mr W. Robertson, seconded bv Mr if. Robertson, that Benton's Hill be cut down and JUlt in hollow, the total cost not to exceed £100. Re the £100 grant to be spent on the rocks, Sandymount, it was decided, on the motion of Mr W. Robertson, seconded by llr M'Curdy, that the engineer be asked lo .ay off work and call for tenders at per yard. It was resolved that an acting committee con. sisting of the Chairman, Mr M'Curdy, and Mr W. Robertson be formed to wait on the Government engineer to arrange -with him to meet ou the grounds and lay off the work. Ou the motion of Mr W. Robertson, seconded by Mr Black, it was decided that a grant be asked .from the Government in connection with the petition of the settlers of Sandymount. Birds' eggs to tlio number of 973 were handed in. Accounts amounting to £20 10s 3Ud were passed for payment.
