A NEW GUINEA MASSACRE

Press Asso.iat'on—By Telegraph—Copyright,. PORT DARWIN, December 16. (Received Dec. 16. at 7.23 p.m.) News has been received of a massacre on the Victoria River. The details are meagre. It is believed the blacks attacked the Government bore party, killing two. The bore party captured and chained seven or eight natives. Bradshaw's launch arrived shortly after the massacre, and undertook to convey the natives to Port Darwin. Shortly after leaving Bradshaw had the irons removed from the natives, who immediately attacked and murdered the whole crew excepting a black boy. The victims' names were :—Bradshaw, Eggeroff, Donnock, Skelian, and ■ four black bovs.
