Press Association—By Talegraph—Copyright. COURT TRIALS. MELBOURNE, December 15. (Received Dec. 15, at 10.20 a.m.) Hervey was acquitted on the charge of attempting to shoot Walter Baker, the aclor. The trial of Howie for shooting Mrs Wortley, at Glenelg, resulted in the prisoner being adjudged insane. FATAL ENDING TO A QUARREL. During a family quarrel at South Yarra Arthur Ferres fatally stabbed his mother. THr. AUSTRALASIAN SQUADRON. SYDNEY, -December 15. (Received Dec. 15. at 11.5 p.m.) The new Powerful and the cruiser Pioneer have arrived. The latter replaces the Milclura as a training ship, THE MACQUARIE MAIL ROBBERY. A man named Jordannt has been sentenced to 10 years' penal servitude in connection with the recent Port Macquarie mail robbery. A second man was acquitted. QUARRELLING ON THE SCAFFOLD. PERTH, December 15. (Received Dec. 15, at 10.20 a.m.) In connection with the execution of Hagen, Espade, and Marques for the murder of Mr Liebglib at Broome, Espade and Marques had an angry altercation on the scaffold, lasting some minutes. This and Espade's grasping the rope unnerved the executioner, and led to the serious accident to Webster.
