MEAT-HAWKING CARTS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir.—ln last Tuesday's edition of tho Times you stated that "a deputation fairly representative of the Dunedin master butchers Wailed upon Dr Ogston yesterday with reference to Ihe j>roj>osal to abolish meat-hawking carls, and that the deputation was unanimously of the opinion (hat hawking meat should be abolished." Your report and the action of this self-appointed deputation, consisting of about five master butchers, having engendered very tore feelings amongst other members of tho trade, I have been requested by many master butchers to state _lhnt the gentlemen comprising the deputation had , no authority whatever from tho Master Butchers' Association to take tho action as stated by you.—l am, etc.,
