The s.s. Wiikare' left, the Bowen pier, Port Chalmera, yesterday afternoon for Melbourne, via the Bluff and Hobart.

The flags at Port Chalmers were halfmasted yesterday as a mark of respect for the late Mr J. Thomson, deputy-chairman of the Dock Trust, whose funeral took place in the afternoon.

TKo s.s. Kent is exnected to be all clear of her inward cargo by to-morrow afternoon. Amongst, the outward cargo she has taken in are several heavy pieces of machinery. Captain Phillips, who took the s.s. Miraroa up to Sydney and back on her last trip, rejoins tho Manuka at Lritelton, and Captain Kennedy will have charge of the.
