UNFAIR ELECTORAL TACTICS.
TO THE EDITOR. i S)x,—lt has come to my personal know« ledge that canvassers arc going around .Uunedin and its environs from house to liouse securing the names of. all- persons whose names aro not onMhc electoral roll. Many have come of age recently whoso names are not on Ihe rolls. If any aro found without their names on the rolls, these canvassers get them to fill in and sign the usual form requesting the'returning officer to put their names on. Such persons aro then assured they need not have the slightest misgiving as to their immes being put on, for these canvassors ]vill not fail to see thai they arc eo tmt on. Allow me to warn all such electors 'that unless they receive a postal official notification from the returning officer that their names have been placed on the electoral rolls that'their names will tiot be on the rolls. Many who have filled in such papers have received no such notification. Wan. it because they wo suspected of striking out the line? I am euro you, Sir. will acree that we should have a fair fiphr, and that you will "oelo to prevent any unsuspecting elector I>oing Hius unjustly robbed of his or her veto."—l :im, otc, T.
