CITY POLICE COURT.
Tuesday, Septejibeb 12. (Before Messrs F. H. Morice and D. Larnach, J.P.'s.). ' Drunkenness and Assaulting a Constable.— Robert James Allen pleaded "Guilty" to drunkenness, and also to a charge of assaulting a constable after arrest.—Sub-inspector Green stated that accused was arrested in Princes street on the previous 'night for drunkenness. He assaulted the arresting constable by striking' him an tho mouth with his fist. The accused was very troublesome, and had to be conveyed to the station in a cab.—A fine of 40s or four days' imprisonment- was imposed for the assault-, anil on the charge of drunkenness accused (a fireman tho Mokoia) was convicted and discharged. A Chargo of Heft.—Charles Harrison was charged with having, between Marcli 30 and August 31, at Napier, stolen £3 6s, the property of one Joseph-Fickling.—Chief Detective Herbert said tho offenco was committed ■ atNapier, an<\ the Napier police had been communicated with, but a reply had not yet been received. Hs understood that accused was prepared to piead here, if permitted to do so, and he asked for a remand till the following day.—The remand was granted as rcquosted. Prohibited Persons.—Thomas Ritchie, who did not appear, was charged with entering the Parkside Hotel during the currency of a prohibition order against- him.—The case was adjourned till tho following day.—A similar charge against William Kennedy was adjourned till the following day.
