CLINTON STOCK SALE.

The National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand (Limited) report bavins held their usual fortnightly sale at Clinton on -Thursday, 7th inst-. There was a large yarding, chiefly hoggets, with a small proportion of wethers and ewes. There was a fair_ attaidanee of the public, and although bidding was rather slow at tho opening, it improved as the sale proceeded, with the result that tho, bulk of the yarding changed hands at fairly, satisiactory prices. Their sales were as follow:—For Mr Joseph Tumbull (Waipalu), 197 hoggets at 15s sd. 3G ewes at 16s ■ ISO wethers (passed); Mr John Black (Taumata-), 90 ewes at 20s, 7 hoggets at 21s Gd; Mr A. Dixon (Clinton), 89 hoggets at 16s Id. 52 do at 19s; Mr R. Bngrie, jun. (Waipahi), 52 hoggeis at 20s, 43 do at 17s 3d, 30 wethers at 225; Mr H. E.. Steel (Wairuna Bush), 250 four-tooth ewes at 275, UG hoggets at 14s 3d 121 wethers (passed); Mr A. D. Mathieson (Clinton), ,67 wethers at 225, 21 ewes at 18s 4d; Mr D. Murray, IGO ewes at 17s lOd, 200 ewe hoggets (passed); Mr A. Youii"ston (Gorge), 11G hoggets at 18s; Mr John Wallace (Clinton), 110 hoggets at 18s Gd; Mr Chas. Tliev also sold a few head of cattle, which realised up to £5 5s for dairy cows and £315s for two-year-old steers.
