MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Hand and Heart Lodge, M.U., was bold in the lodge room, Stuart-street, N.G. Bro. J. M'lntosh occupying tho chair. One candidate was initiated. After the usual business the election of delegates for the half-yearly District meeting Avas proceeded with, and resulted as follows:—P.P.G.Jf., Bro. Hamel; P.G.'s, Bros. P. Thomson, J. Thomson, T;- Flynn, and Grater; N.G., Bros. J. M'lntosh; V.G., Bro. W. Rosovear; E.S., Bro. E. W. Pea. A visit was received from the Valley Ledge, the members of which mustered in large numbers,and provided tho programme for the evening. P.P.G.M. Bro. Sligo proposed a vote of thanks to the performers, which was carricd by acclamation. Bro. Cooper acted in an efficient manner as accompanist during tho evening,The weekly meeting of the Rescue Lodge, 1.0. G.T., was held in its lodgft room, South Dunedin, on Friday evening last, Bro. 1 J. Hilton, P.C.T. (in the absence of tho C.T.), presiding. There was a large attendance of members and visitors. One candidate wa3 .initiated, 'liie Ark of Love, All Nations, and Lily of tho Valley Lodges, were officially received, each lodgo being strongly-represented, fully 80 persons being presont in all. Bio. Cook (of Cliristchurch) wns also wjlconwd," and gave a resume of tlieworkon the lodges in tho Canterbury district,, staling, tlwt they were in a very-flourishing condition. Hearty votes of thanks were passed to. the. visiting lodges, and responded to by Bro. -Butterfield (Ark of Love), Campbell (All .Nations), Gillam (Lily of the Valley), Roxburgh (Hope of Cavershany, and Sis. Faithful (Alliance). Tho Hope of Caversham Lodge, 1.0. G.T., held its weekly meeting in the . Kew P.M. Schoolroom, Sis. Peterson, C.T., presiding. There was a good attendance of members and visitors. Bro. Cook, D.C., of Cliristchurch, spoke on the good o£ the order, and conveyed greetings from all the Cliristchurch lodges. The item for the evening was turning out the C.T., and proved very interesting and enjoyable. The vote of thanks was responded to' by Bros. Cook (District Lodge, Cliristchurch), Roberts (Alliance), and Wilson (Star, of Woolston, Cliristchurch).
