(Received Sept. 12, at 0.17 a.m.) Field-marshal Marquis Yamagata, in an interview, said had tlie war continued the loss of life and treasure would not have been compensated for by the results. Adequate repayment was hopeless. It was absolutely certain that Harbin could have been captured. No apprehension on that score had the slightest influence on the Government in its decision. . It is reported here that Generals Nogi and Nodzu have resigned. BARON KOMURA ILL. WASHINGTON, September 11. (Received Sept. 11, nt 8.29 a.m.) Tho'coolie class in Tokio destroyed 30 electric cars. The destruction of the Christian churches was due to the indiscretion of the Salvationists in publicly denouncing the antipeaco movement in tlio streets during a popular commotion. »
