Interesting returns arc given in connection with tho fruit industry, and similar information is supplied relating to the perishable export trade. Mr E. R. White, 8.N.R., first officer ot tho AVhito Star liner Corinthie, which is due in New Zcnlq,nd shortly from London, has lwen obliged to temporarily relinquish his position to-attend to family affairs in connection _ with tho recent death of his father. His place has been filled by Mr Stokes Smith. The new second officer of the Corinthie is Mr Sidney S. Richardson, who has just completed his 12 months' training in the navy, entitling him to draw,an annual retainer as an '"efficient" ofticor.
