D"rling, and will be a three-masted schooner 111 115, but with powerful engines dining a single 10ft screw, the cmokostack being tatween the main and mipzen masts. The vessel is 161" on Iho water-lino and 181 ft overall 32ffc water-line beam, and 16ft draught. ARRIVAL OF THE RUAPEHU. The New Zealand Shipping Company's fine steamship Ruapc'nu, from Jiondon, via Hobart, Wellington, and the Bluff, arrived at Port Chalmeis on yesterday afternoon's tide, and was berthed at the George stieet pier, where «Jio will take in cargo for Home. Lieutenant F. Mayoss, R.N.R., is still in command, and is accompanied by the following executive officers: Chief, Mr N. D. L. Cornwall: second, Mr Ci. F. Mead; tliild, Mr A. M. P. Foul; fourth Mr S. F. Martin; fifth, Mr R. Iluntiies; surgeon, Dr Brownridge. The chief engineer is Mr A Somcrulle; second, Mr R. Thomson; tliiid, Mr N. Mathcw; fourth, Mr S. F. MaTtin; fifth. Mr R. Huntnes; chief refrigerating engineer, Mr J. Calder; second, Mr I'. G. Wcodall; electrician. Mr J. N. W. Middleton; and chief stevard-in-cliargo, Mr C. J. Wood. The Ruapehu left London on March 23, proceeded to Plymouth, and after embarking passengers and mails left that port on March 25had moderate weather acioss the Bay of Biscay, anil armed at Teneriffu on March 30; coaled and left again same day for the Cape of Good Hope; crossed the equator on April 5: had light SF. winds, with moder ate weather, and arri\ed a-t Capetown on Apul 14; left again for Hobart on the same day, and e\perieneed modeiate to strong passage winds to 104 E. long., thence she had light winds, with fine weather, and ariived at Hobart on May 3; landed 270 tons of cargo, and left that port at 0 a.m. oil the J th inst; had fine v-cather !ho Tasman Ocean, and arrived at Wellington on the Bth inst.; discharged and left again on the 12th inst. at 4.45 pm„ reaching Lyttelton at 8 a.m. on the 13th; left again on the 17th inst., and arrived at the Bluff on the 18th; took in cargo, and left again at 2.40 p.m. on the 20th inst.
