(Per United Press Association.) WHANGAREI, May 19. The Hon. Mr Hall-Jones is much impressed with the up-to-dat© machinery at the Limestone Island Cement Works and the magnitude of tho operations, After visiting the hospital cottage homes at Black Bridge and Kamo tho Minister received a deputation from the County Council, which asked for num'orous road grants. The Minister implied that tho back-block sett'ors would receive the first consideration v.hcn the olio cation of grants was made. He also intimated that the Government intended to hand back a certain proportion of tho timber royalties to county councils in future. At Hukercnui Gap a deputation from the Chamber, of Commerce and Borough Counpil waited on the Minister, who informed them that the Main Trunk line and the Gap line weio classed as two important works to be favoured. He hoped this session to put through five miles from Kawskawa and the same distance of tho Hukerenui-Towai line.
