Alex, Wilson wrote asking that a bank of clay fronting his' properly in Farley street be romoved.—To be informed that clay will to removed as opportunity offers. The Perpetual Trustees, Estate, and Agency Company wrote stating (hat the registrar declined to accept the plan of Anderson's Bosiyn ,Extension as signed, and giving an undertaking on behalf of Mr Anderson to withhold the sale of section 23 for 10 years.— The committer recommended that the offer of Mr Anderson bo accepted, the undertaking to be stamped and rcgistcied; also that the endorsement o{ consent to the plan bo amended to comply with the requirements of the registrar.

The Under-Secretary for the Public. Works Department wrote again asking for information regarding the substitution of electric for horse power on the Bosiyn tramway line,— I'll# clerk to supply information.—Tlio Mayor stated that tho Public Works Department had evidently just ascertained that electric tramcars were running in Bosiyn. H. Bagshaw wrote complaining of the nuisance caused l)y. the carcase of a cow near the Bowling Green ground.—The clerk to take action to have ntusance abated.

The committee recommended that the land taken for the extension of Al'ilillan street be transferred to the council in accordant with tho provisions of the Public Works Act; and it _was further recommended that the transfcr'of land to Mrs lllingworth near Hill road be allowed to stand over in the meantime.

The District Health Officer wrote stating that the council had authority to remove a tent used for housing a patient suffering from ah infectious distase.—Health Officer to be allied to refer {lie council to such authority under the Public Health Act.—The Mayor cSpltuned that the committee thought the matter was one within th& power of tho Health Officer, and if the council had the pbwer that was stated it might be called upoh to interfere with almost every house in the district 'where a tent for a consumptive patient was in use. (j, Blockie be informed that instructions liod been given to have Stuart street grade improved. J. J. P. Barkman wrote asking tIA council's consent to certain lands in Brockvillo being used as nightsoil depots, and for permission to deposit ashes and refuse on the section occupied by Mr Malcolm, adjoining City road.—The committee recommended that the proposed nightsoil depots be sanctioned, providing the soil was buried and treated m a manner to prevent a nuisance and to the satisfaction of thd council's inspector, and that the ashp.ts be agreed to conditionally on the surface being kept covered with not less than 6m of clay or clean earth, and that irth.cona.twn. set forth were not strictly adhered to the permission granted be withdrawn, •

The committee also reported that it would hold a special inestin» on the 24th inst. to consider the finance.—The report was adopted.

A NUISANCE AT KA3IIOHAI VALLEY, Tho District Health Officer wrote complaining of a nuisance onuseu by an uncovered ashpit at the terminus of the lUikorai Tramway Company's lme.-The Kev. E. R. M. Sutterland and a depuation representing the Preabvteriaii Church also waited on the council in regard to the same matter. Tho Hev. Mr Sutherland pointed out that when the tip was sanctioned ft was understood the material deposited would be covered over with eight or ten inohes of earth, but this had not been done, an 3 it had become a. public nuisance.
