PERSONAL NOTES.
At a meeting of the Raveusbourne School Committee, held last evening, it was resolved to recommend Miss Margaret Mackenzie for the position o£ mistress of the school. . At a special mooting of tho Arthur Street School CommitJ.ee, held last evening, and attended by all tlie members, it was decided to recommend the Education Board to appoint Miss Jesste Maxwell, at prosent mistress of the East 'i'aieri School, to the position of mistress of the school, rendered vacant by tile promotion of Miss Haig. A correspondent writes to correct ihe statement that Dr Mellor was a pupil of the Dunedin High School, as stated yesterday, and adds:—"Dr Mellor received a great, part of his education at the Dunedin Technical School, _with which his name is specially connected, and thenco lie passed on to the University, where he graduated with distinction. During all-the years that he was thus engaged in self-education he waytorking his' eight hours a day in' Messrs SargoodV JBoot IVctor.v." '
