At a well-attended committio meeting of the Dioiedin Coursing Club, the Ground Committee reported that it had received a supply of hares and placed them ou the plumptcm at Forbury Pari:. It was dccided to start' the meeting on Thursday, April 27, instead of Wednesday, 2Ctli. in order to allow visitors attending tho Easter races at Christchiircli time lo get back ou Wednesday night. The committee has hud tho cscapes put in order nnd shelter provided for the hares in the shnpo of small houses built with manuka scrub, and plenty of feed supplied them. Nominations aro still coming in, and members' tickets aro selling freely. Tho Waterloo promises to be a success in cviiy way.

HARRIERS. Ideal weather prevailed for the opening run of the St. Andrew Harriers, which was held yesterday under the best of conditions, as there was a record attendance, consisting of— Messrs .Kosevoar (president), Burlinson and M'Kechnio (vice-presidents), and 25 members, among whom were 12 starters. Mr Esquilant took the-pbotos. of the club, and then llessrs Rosevear and Burlinson laid tho trail for 100 yards, which was thou taken up by Gill and Thomson (hares), who took the Castle road, then over sonic lonely flat country, and away round on to Kew, thence through Caversham into' St. Clair, where alt enjoyed a fine bath. The members then partook of a sumptuous spread given by their president (Mr Roseyear), which was done ample justice to. The captain (F. Williams) then thanked Mr Rosevear for his kindness, and cheers being caljcd for Mr and Mrs Chishlom, the members adjourned, after having a splendid opening day, which all thoroughly enjoyed. The Broad Ray regatta, which was postponed at 'the New Year on account of the weather, 'will bo held on Easter Monday.' Entries fcjr all events will be reopened, and will closo «n Wednesday, ,32th inst. Applications for withdrawal of entries must be made before the 12th inst. The Canterbury Rugby Union decided last night to :isk to have the North v. South match at Christchurch this year.
