WELLINGTON, February 16. Mr- A'. Baxter, oue of Now Zealand's delegates to tho Lav,;n Tennis Association of Australasia, writes to the secretary of the Now Zealand Tennis Association to tho effect that it was dooided by ibfc association to send four players to England, tho profits arising out of the playing of the matches to bo devoted towards paying the expenses of the selected plaj r er3. The association was unable to agreo to pay the expenses of players. A proposal to appoint a. selector of tho team outside- tho association was .negatived, and the selection will bo made by tho associations council next Monday. From what tho writer learns, "Wilding (Christchuroh), who is now in England, will bo chosen. In Mr Baxter's opinion Parker (Wellington) should also ho chosen, and the New Zealand Association can rest assured Hint its delerates will fight hard for him. Brookes (of Mollxjufne) has decided to go. Dunlop and Rice, will go if their expenses are. paid,. and Dewhurst (lato of New South Wales, now in America) is also mentioned. Mr Baxter thinks the team should consist of Broods, Wilding, Parker (for certain), and a fourth mail-to bo either HitMS Dunlop, or Dowlwrsfc.
