DUNEDIN DRAINAGE BOARD.
A special meeting of the Duncdin Drainago and Sewerage Board was held on January 31 for the purpose, of receiving a report from the Finance Committee with relcronce to redefining the drainage area by declaring certain portions sewered, according to spction 48 of the hoard's act, and certain portion? in the outer area, according to scciion 50; anil also'with reference to rating for the ensuing financial year. The committee recommended that the properties included iu the list of streets as sewered he rated at the maximum rate of Ed, the_ onlauco of city propertico, Caversham Ward, the whole of tho Boroughs ol Morniugton, South Duncdin, and St. Hilda, and the portions of the Boroughs'of Northast Valley and Roslyn, at present rated, to be rated at 4d, and the balance of the rateable property in tho district to be declared the outer area and rated at 2d. The report was adopted, but at a subsequent meeting it was _ decided that the rate on sewereil properties Ik?. 6d, the other rates to remain as fixed. It is estimated that the expenditure for the ensiling year will amount to £10,472 12s.
