BANKRUPTCY STATISTICS.

Tho following are the bankruptcy statistics for Dunedin and luvercargilt for the year 1904-. The country statistics arc not yet complete:—

Dunedin District.—Bankruptcies on petition by debtors, 17; on petition by creditors, 6; orders of immcdiato discharge, 7; orders suspended by court, 4-; assets as per statements filed (exclusive of amounts secured), £5398 17s; seemed creditors, £8376 17s lOd; assets realised by Assignee, £1919 9s 7d; debts proved, £6175 9s 9d; paiil in dividends (exclusive of preferential and secured claims), £1896 14s 3d: costs of actions, solicitors' and supervisors' fees, £332 6s 3d.

Invcrciirgill District — Bankruptcies, 20 on debtors' petitions and 1 on creditors' petition; immediate discharges, 8; suspended, 0; assets (not including seeured creditors), £3942 5s 7d; seeured creditors, £673 10s 8tl; realised by Assignee, £926 3s 7d; debts proved, £1624 6s 8d; dividends (exelusive of preferential and secured claims) £678 7s 7(1; costs and fees, £55 14s lOd. • In addition to the bankruptcy statistics a.ready published for the Dmiedin and Inverrargill districts, the following are tlie returns now available from the country districtsGore—Bankruptcies on petitions by debtors, 4; orders of immediate discharge, 1; liabilities as per statement filed, £442 17s stl; amount paid in dividends, £1 8« 4d. Nascby district—Bankruptcies on debtors' petitions, 3, and on creditors' petitions, 1; orders of immediate discharge, 1; liabilities as per filed statement, £783 6s 9(1; dividends paid, £265 9s 3d. Oamaru district— Bankruptcies on debtors' petitions, 3; liabilities as per statement filed, £2216 16s 8d; amount of debts proved, £5705 17s 6d, Lawrence district—Nil.

The bankruptcies in Dutiedin district on debtors' petitions were 17 and. oil creditors' petitions 6, and in InTerpargul district on debtors' petitions 20 and on creditors' petition 1.
