A GERMAN LINE'S MANAGEMENT.

(Received Feb. 11, at 10.30 a.m.) Giving evidence before the Navigation Commission, the representative of the North German Lloydl's Company stated that, in order to placate the German Agrarian party, the German mail steamers were not allowed to carry certain lines of produce. Tlie prohibition against meat was absolute. To overcomo the difficulty the company was constructing vessels other than- mail boats. Ho admitted! that German merchants' had one price for exports and another for home consumption. The company hoped, with its new ships, to increase its Australasian trade and to carry produce of all descriptions,
