At a meeting of tbo Mataura Presbytery on Thursday a call from the Wyndham Presbyterian congregation to the Rev, A. Sangstcr was sustained, and, as Mr Sangster signified his acceptance of it, the induction was fixed for Tuesday, 21st inst. The AVyndham Herald states thai -the Rev. 'Mr Sangstcr also received a unanimous call to the Cromwell Church. The Bflv. Alfred Neild, M.A., warden of Selwyn College, paid a visit to Naseby 011 Holiday, and: was iso favoairably impressed (snys the local paper) that he has decided to accept tho charge of the Anglican Church there. Mr R. AV. Dyer, S.M., atKaiapoi, is to take up the dutios of second magistrate at AuckMr R. A. Acheson, of Carterton, wlioi has just been appointed a stipendiary magistrate, will probably be stationed iii Wesfciand. Mr Day. S.M. Nt Holiitilca, has been notified gf liia transfer to North Canterbury, and to assist in the Christchuvch district. Mr E, Bockaert, reprra&utative in' New Zealand for tbo Do Bion Bouton (limited), of London, and A. Darraeq and Co. (Limited), of Snresnes, arrived in Dunodin, with his wife, on a motoring! trip from the north. Mr Bockaert left Lyttolton about four weeks 'a?o, and gradually worked his way down south, visiting en route ICnrow and other localities itliat are distant from the Main road. Mr >Tonn Wilkinson, of this city, barrister and solicitor, has received notification of his appointment as a 'commissioner of the Supreme Courts of New South Wales and Victoria to take and receivo affidavits concerning matters within the jurisdiction of such courts. Southern readers will regret to learn of the death of Mr "William Fhilp, formerly manager of the Gore branch of the Fanners' Agency Company, which took place yesterday morning at the residence of his father, Mr W. L. Pliilp, Upper York place, Deceased had beon an invalid for some .Wars past, suffering from acute, rheumatism, and laterly had been confined to his bed. The end came somewhat unexpectedly, though deceased had been in a very lew state for the past fortnight. He was in his thirty-seventh year. Tho Melbourne Age says:— Mr A. G. Kid-ston-Hunler has been appointed official analyst under the Department of Agriculture in connection with the Artificial Manures Act. Mr G. ]!, AVest, who mside the presentation, referred to tho good feeling which " had always existed between the recipient and thoso under his charge. Mr Payon, in returning thanks for the 'presents and the men's good wishes, expressed regret at parting with the men. lie would ever cherish with the wannest feelings remembrances of the happy days he had spent at Reid and Gray's. On the call of Mr Trounson, three hearty cheers were given for Mr Payon.
