In regard to the robbery of the Ttirakina's mails, it is stated that on the detectives boarding the vessel in Wellington yesterday they found the interior of tho mailroom much disturbed. The thief, or thieves, had oonlinod" their attention apparently to tho mail containing for the most ijai't cards and presents from Homo people to New Zealand friends. It is iinpossiblo at. present to discover what is missing. The police are inclined to tho . belief that the robbery was committed while the vessel was at Ilohnrt, as in order to reach tlio mail room it is necessary to take off the hatches, and they were not opened except at Hobarfc until tho Turakina arrived here.
