FATAL EXPLOSION

(Received Nov. 20, at 9.17 a.m.) Twenty-two tanks used in lighting' the railroad cars exploded on the People's Gas Company's premises, Chicago, killing 18 persons,' A coal pile caught fire, threatening the gasometers. The waste pipes were thereupon opened, and the gas escaped without igniting.
