DUNEDIN PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY.
Groat interest is taken in musical circle# ill the first performance in public of the recently-established Philharmonic. Society, "his takes placo this evening in Hi 3 Majesty's Theatre, and the fact that nearly all the tickets have been already disposed of assuros a largo attendance. Signor Squarisa has got together a number of youthful enthusiasts, and. as they have been practising assiduously for some time ho is confident, all going well, that good renderings will be gives of the various items on a good programme. Some of the selections have not been performed in public here before—namely, Beethoven's overture to his opera " Fidelo," tha " Slavonio dance" (Dvorak), and tho entr'acte "Sohelm auihr." Hiss Amy Coughtrey will play a violin concerto by Max Bruch. Miss Harris Warsaw (mejzo-toprano) end Mr S. P. Eaton (baritone) l will be the vocalists,
