The Chief Justice, Sii Robert Stout, leaves for the north by the express this morning. Among tho passengers in the ill-fated Australia was Dr Elinor Baker, eldest daughter of tho late Sir T, S. Balser; of Duuedin. , Mr Baker was at the time of Ill's death in charge of the rectory boarding-house of the Otago Boys' Iligh School. Siuce taking her degree at the Olngo University Dr Elinor Baker has been completing irer special studies in London, where sho lias'.left'the ether members of her family, returning alone to take up the practice of. her profession. In common with all those who follow with interest the career of young New Zealanders, wo sincerely sympathise with Miss Baker on the untoward termination of her voyage. -
