The run was very fast, andi some of tho new members showed good! form, especially Clark-sou and Thompson. J. Guinness kept tho, pack we'd in hand, and H. Gill acted as whipper-in, Mr Bunting entertained the members at afternoon tea, and hoped til© next tune they rail from Halfway Bush tliey would have a larger muster. An apology for absencc was received from Mr i\ (j, Cray (Mayor of u'est Harbour). Correspondence re the Government grant for swimming was received from Mr T. C. Ascliman, secretary of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association.' Butler) forwarded his resignation, which was accepted with regret, and a vote of thanks to Mr Butler for his assistance in the formation, of tho centre was ordered to be recorded' on the minutes. Mr B. S. Knox ws appointed secretary for the remainder of the season. Tho allotting of the Government grant to the clubs connected with, tho centre was deferred until next meeting. POET CHALMERS CADETS. Tho Port, Chalmers Cadets fired off the final matches on Saturday last for prizes presented by the 'business people of the Port. The first prizo was a champion medal, and tho second a, gentleman's companion. The ranges were 200 and 400 yards, and the first match resulted:— Cadet J. Montgomery, 91; P.O. AV. Dillon, 73; P.O. W.
